Star Trek gives us hope for the future by showing us there is a future, and the chance for a good one. There are still challenges to overcome, (i.e. the Klingons and Romulans always seem to be up to no good), but in the future anything is possible. I like that inner conflicts and personal relationships are explored; it's not all about chasing, or running away, from the aliens.

Survivor

One of the shows I enjoy watching is "Survivor." I've been a fan since the first season. I often wonder how I would do on the show. While my survival skills are zero, maybe I could make friends with someone who would help me build a fire. Challenges would be a weak area for me, I don't do well on puzzles that have more than ten pieces, but if they add new challenges like beer drinking I know I would excel. And the "beware" clues, what to do with them? No worry, I'm sure I wouldn't find any based on how often things around my house go missing. And while I know the players are cold and hungry, I always pretend I'm on a reward challenge when watching "Survivor,", as I sit in front of the warm fire drinking a cold beverage and trying to decide if I want a third piece of pizza. or not.
